The Colburn is a performing arts school in downtown Los Angeles. Its mission is to provide the highest quality education at all levels of development. The identity is inspired by two of the most important guides for any performer; the metronome and the conductor’s baton. The lines represent the 4 different parts of the school. By using mainly typography, the brand conveys the essence of music without using customary symbols and characters.
